Working Location : Site Based - West Sumbawa

Working Schedule : Regular working days 5:2 (Monday-Friday)

Some of your duties will include:

Ensure water quality produced from the SWRO desalination plant consistently meets operational, regulatory, and internal quality standards.

Manage and implement effective water quality monitoring and laboratory programs.

Support operational decision-making through reliable water quality data interpretation and recommendations.

Ensure compliance with applicable permits, standards, and corporate commitments related to water quality.

Contribute to stable, efficient, and sustainable utilities operations under IFMS Maintenance.

Water Quality Monitoring & Analysis

Develop and implement routine water quality monitoring programs for raw water, permeate, reject, and support treatment systems.

Conduct and/or oversee analysis of key parameters including pH, conductivity, TDS, SDI, turbidity, hardness, alkalinity, chlorine, and other relevant parameters.

Ensure proper sampling methods, preservation techniques, and testing frequencies are applied.

Review and validate laboratory results, identifying trends, deviations, or abnormal water quality conditions.

Operational Support & Optimization

Provide technical interpretation of water quality data to Operations and Engineering teams.

Support optimization of pre-treatment processes, chemical dosing, and SWRO operation to protect membranes and improve plant performance.

Support troubleshooting related to fouling, scaling, biological growth, and water quality excursions.

Coordinate water quality requirements for CIP (Clean-in-Place), system flushing, and commissioning activities.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure water quality monitoring and reporting comply with applicable regulations, permits, and internal standards.

Prepare routine and ad-hoc water quality reports for internal management, audits, and regulatory submissions.

Coordinate with Environmental and other relevant departments on water quality and compliance matters.

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data integrity for all water quality activities

Laboratory Management 

Manage laboratory equipment, instruments, reagents, and consumables.

Ensure laboratory instruments are calibrated, maintained, and fit for purpose.

Coordinate third-party laboratory testing when required.

Develop, review, and maintain SOPs for sampling, testing, and laboratory activities

What skills and experience do you need?

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field.

Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in water quality monitoring, laboratory analysis, or water treatment operations with preferred experience in SWRO desalination, industrial water treatment, or large-scale utilities facilities.

Possesses knowledge and skills in basic water chemistry and water quality parameters, with understanding of laboratory testing methods and QA/QC practices, hands‑on water sampling and testing capability, basic data analysis and reporting skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting operational teams.

Strong knowledge of SWRO and pre‑treatment processes, with familiarity in membrane fouling, scaling, and CIP requirements, advanced water quality data interpretation skills, and hands‑on experience supporting process optimization, operational troubleshooting, and the use of laboratory instruments, online analyzers, or water quality dashboards.

Preferably holds a relevant certification in laboratory practices, water quality analysis, or chemical handling.

Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.
