Some of your duties will include:
Belt Conveyor Maintenance & Repair
Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of belt conveyor systems across Concentrator 1 and Concentrator 2.
Conduct belt splicing (hot and cold), belt replacement, patching, and repair according to OEM standards.
Carry out conveyor alignment, tensioning, and tracking adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
Inspect and maintain conveyor components including pulleys, rollers, idlers, skirts, chutes, scrapers, take-up systems, and drive units.
Diagnostics & Technical Problem Solving
Identify mechanical faults, diagnose root causes, and recommend corrective actions for conveyor failures.
Assist in planning and executing corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
Monitor equipment condition and report potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with maintenance plans and SOPs.
Record inspection findings, measurement data, and equipment condition in maintenance logs/CMMS.
Support predictive maintenance programs (vibration, wear, structural inspection).
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Indonesian mining safety regulations and internal safety standards.
Implement safe work practices during belt replacement, lifting, isolation/LOTO, and work around moving equipment.
Participate in safety toolbox meetings, risk assessments, and incident prevention activities.
Technical Documentation & Reporting
Complete maintenance reports, job sheets, inspection forms, and belt splicing documentation accurately.
Update work orders in the maintenance system (Ellipse or equivalent).
Provide feedback to supervisors regarding repeated failures and improvement opportunities.
Collaboration & Coordination
Coordinate closely with other technicians, supervisors, and operations teams to minimize equipment downtime.
Support shutdown activities, emergency repairs, and cross-department maintenance tasks.
Communicate clearly regarding work progress, material requirements, and operational constraints.
Equipment & Tools Management
Ensure proper use, care, and storage of specialized tools such as belt cutters, vulcanizing machines, alignment lasers, tension meters, and lifting devices.
Report damaged or missing tools and maintain readiness of maintenance equipment.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to reliability improvement initiatives related to conveyor systems.
Recommend improvements to procedures, work methods, and maintenance practices.
Participate in training sessions and stay updated with modern conveyor maintenance techniques.
Support to Expansion Projects
Assist in commissioning work, installation support, and mechanical checks during plant expansion or conveyor upgrades.
Provide technical insights during modification or replacement of conveyor systems.
What skills and experience do you need?
Education
Minimum education: Vocational High School (SMK) in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology.
Hold an operational inspector certificate or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of positions; poses relevant technical inspector certificate.
A recognized qualification at D3 level or better in Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering.
Professional Experience
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in maintenance and replacement of belt conveyor systems.
At least two years of direct supervisory experience or adequate supervisory training is required
Technical Knowledge & Competencies
General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of Crushing /Milling/ Pump & Piping/Screen & Conveyor and maintenance operations.
Skilled in belt replacement (hot/cold splicing), alignment, and tensioning.
Familiar with conveyor components such as drive systems, pulleys, rollers, skirts, and chutes.
Able to read technical drawings and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Regulatory & Compliance
Working knowledge of Indonesian mining regulations, environmental permits and ISO 9001/45001 standards
Leadership & Management Skills
Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
Knowledgeable in workplace safety procedures, especially in moving equipment areas.
Communication & Language
Establish and maintain close communication with other Technician and supervisors in Process Maintenance group.
Value all individuals and treat them with respect, courtesy, and sensitivity.
Use effective communication techniques to initiate contact with workers.
Prefer to be able to speak English
