About the role

The Superintendent Safety Health Loss Prevention is responsible for managing company objectives and all applicable Government of Indonesia regulatory and permit obligations for SHLP, with reporting, compliance, and other statutory requirements. This role is accountable for the execution of plans and projects, training and development of employees in the SHLP Department, and managing all operational SHLP issues to improve safety performance across the organization at Batu Hijau, including Business Partners.

Some of your duties will include:

Manage company objectives and all applicable Government of Indonesia regulatory and permit obligations for SHLP, with reporting, compliance, and other statutory requirements

Execute plans and projects and provide training and development of employees in SHLP Department

Manage and find solutions to all operational SHLP issues and improve safety performance among the organization of Batu Hijau (including Business Partner)

Support all New Projects at Batu Hijau to comply with Government of Indonesia regulatory and permit obligations for SHLP

Support all regular critical jobs at Batu Hijau including Major Shutdown, tailings pipe replacement, and replacement of high-rise roofs building

Audit compliance to company safety rules, policies, procedures, programs, and Indonesian Government requirements

Assist Departmental Managers in the implementation and supervision of Safety and Loss Control activities

Support and work with Superintendent FES in the implementation of emergency response procedures

Advise line management regarding safety rules, regulations, trends, statistics, and compliance with rules and policies

Participate in accident investigations, observations, safety interactions, inspections, and safety meetings to assure programs are working as intended

What skills and experience do you need?

Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Process, Geological, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Minimum 15 years of experience in Open Cut Mining, Mineral Processing, Construction, Heavy Industries or related industries

Minimum 5 years of operational leadership experience in Safety, Health, Loss Prevention or HSE functions at Manager or Superintendent level

Understand the mining and construction process involving at least 100 employees, with proven ability to lead teams, manage safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Strong knowledge and proven track record of mining regulations, HSE management systems, risk assessment, emergency response, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance and government reporting requirements

Hold valid POM Certification and AK3 Umum Certification

Strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills

Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
