Some of your duties will include:

Spearhead and align comprehensive aviation safety and security protocols with industry benchmarks to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.

Oversee potential risks, incident investigations, and develop policies to address safety and security or quality concerns.

Enhance the aviation safety environment through collaborative efforts with stakeholders, leveraging advanced technologies and data-driven strategies for the benefit of passengers, crew, and the broader aviation community.

Manage competency development within the work unit to align skills with operational requirements.

Manage and update aviation software to maintain efficiency, safety, and compliance.

Operate, maintain, and repair aviation security facilities and emergency services to ensure readiness and reliability.

Carry out security services for transporting passengers, aircraft crew, carry-on goods, post, cargo, dangerous goods, and weapons.

Develop, update, and enforce adherence to technical manuals, regulations, and safety protocols.

Initiate and implement aviation projects with a focus on safety, quality, and risk assessments.

Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on safety, quality, and operational matters.

Allocate resources effectively to projects to uphold safety and quality standards.

Conduct audits on projects, identifying and addressing safety or quality concerns, and document learnings for continuous improvement.

Perform safety and quality checks before finalizing projects to ensure compliance with standards.

Enforce airport safety regulations, procedures, and ensure alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.

Ensure airport safety operations are conducted in accordance with laws, regulations, and operational documents, including AM, ASP, AEP, and SMS Manual.

Develop and implement critical plans such as the Airport Security Program (ASP), Airport Emergency Plan (AEP), and Airport Contingency Plan.

Conduct operational activities and inspections in accordance with regulations, including adherence to Level of Service Regulatory standards.

Implement and manage Safety Management Systems (SMS), Occupational Safety & Health Management Systems (SMK3), and risk management frameworks.

Handle hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation to proactively address safety threats.

Collaborate with airlines, government agencies, and other stakeholders to address communication needs, improve operational efficiency, and ensure safety outcomes.

Represent the airport in industry meetings and forums, including emergency, safety, and security committees, to align on best practices and regulatory compliance.

What skills and experience do you need?

Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience, including at least 5 years in Airport Operations, Safety, or Security.

Proven ability to lead and align aviation safety and security protocols with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Strong expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and implementation of mitigation strategies.

Experience developing, updating, and enforcing safety manuals, compliance documents, and operational procedures.

Demonstrated capability in implementing and managing SMS, SMK3, and risk management frameworks.

Ability to plan and execute key airport programs (ASP, AEP, Contingency Plan), conduct audits/inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Skilled in stakeholder coordination (airlines, regulators, government) with a data-driven approach to improving safety, operations, and system reliability.
