Role Overview

Samara is building a premium hospitality and construction enterprise on one of Indonesia's most dynamic and challenging islands — and we need a Site Planning Manager who can turn ambitious master programmes into airtight, field-ready construction schedules that actually survive contact with Lombok's reality. This is not a desk-based planning role: you will be on site, in the mud, reconciling what the programme says with what the island throws at you — from delayed material shipments to access road washouts. You will own the translation from macro vision to micro execution, building monitoring systems that give leadership real-time visibility without bureaucratic noise. Key Responsibilities

Decompose master construction programmes into detailed, sequenced site-level schedules with clearly defined critical paths, float analysis, and milestone gating — calibrated to Lombok's supply chain and logistics realities.

Build and maintain a live site monitoring system that tracks programme performance, flags deviations early, and drives corrective action before delays compound — not after.

Coordinate daily and weekly look-ahead planning sessions with site supervisors, subcontractors, and procurement to align workforce, materials, and equipment with programme demands.

Own the identification and management of programme risks specific to island operations — seasonal weather windows, inter-island logistics lead times, and contractor capacity constraints.

Develop and enforce a baseline change management process so that scope variations, design revisions, and site conditions are formally assessed for programme impact before work proceeds.

Produce clear, honest programme reporting for senior leadership and project stakeholders — including earned value snapshots, delay root-cause analysis, and recovery plan options.

Integrate planning inputs from design, procurement, MEP, and finishing trades into a single coherent programme that reflects real-world dependencies and hand-off points.

Champion a planning culture on site — training site engineers and supervisors to think in sequences, constraints, and contingencies rather than reacting day to day.

Maintain historical programme data and lessons-learned records to continuously improve scheduling accuracy and front-end planning quality across future Samara projects.

Operate with full self-sufficiency when digital tools, connectivity, or back-office support are unavailable — keeping the programme alive and the site moving regardless.

Requirements

Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a closely related technical discipline.

Demonstrated hands-on experience transforming high-level master programmes into detailed, resource-loaded construction schedules in complex or resource-constrained environments.

Proficiency in at least one industry-standard planning tool — Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent — with the ability to build, baseline, and update programmes independently.

Proven track record of developing and operating site monitoring systems that delivered genuine early-warning capability, not just retrospective reporting.

Prior experience working in remote, developing, or infrastructure-limited environments where self-sufficiency and improvisation were non-negotiable — island, jungle, mining, or similar frontier project settings strongly valued.

Ability to read and interpret full construction drawing sets, specifications, and contract documents across multiple disciplines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to communicate programme status clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

Experience working on luxury hospitality, resort, or high-specification residential construction projects where quality standards are non-negotiable.

Familiarity with Indonesian construction regulations, permitting timelines, and local subcontractor ecosystems — particularly in NTB or Eastern Indonesia.

Exposure to Hyatt, Marriott, or equivalent international brand construction compliance and handover requirements.

Certification in project management methodologies such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.

Working proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia to engage directly with local contractors and site labour without reliance on interpretation.

Experience integrating BIM models or 4D simulation into construction planning workflows.

Background in earned value management and quantitative schedule risk analysis.

Reports to the Head of Construction or Project Director; works in close daily coordination with Site Managers, Procurement, and Design leads across active Samara project sites.
