SITE MANAGER – JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview
The Site Manager is responsible for day-to-day site operations and ensures that construction activities are executed:
According to drawings and specifications
On schedule
Safely
Efficiently
If the Project Manager focuses on strategy, the Site Manager focuses on on-site execution
1. Site Operations Management
Manage all daily construction activities on site
Supervise works including:
o Structural
o Architectural
o MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
• Ensure work complies with approved shop drawings and method statements
2. Team Coordination
Lead and manage: o Supervisors
o Foremen
o Workers
Coordinate with:
o Subcontractors
o Suppliers
o Engineers and Quantity Surveyors
The Site Manager acts as the field leader
3. Progress & Time Control
Monitor daily progress
Prepare daily and weekly reports
Ensure progress aligns with the project schedule
In case of delays:
Increase manpower
Adjust work sequencing
Coordinate material acceleration
Goal: Maintain project progress on schedule
4. Quality Control
• Ensure all works meet:
o Technical specifications
o Construction drawings
Conduct on-site inspections
Coordinate with QA/QC team
Key focus:
Finishing quality
Dimensional accuracy
Alignment and detailing
5. Material & Logistics Management
• Manage:
o Material deliveries
o Storage and handling o Distribution on site
• Ensure materials are:
o Available on time
o Properly stored and protected
6. Health & Safety (HSE)
Enforce site safety regulations
Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Prevent accidents and unsafe conditions
7. On-Site Problem Solving
• Resolve technical and operational issues on site: o Drawing discrepancies
o Site condition conflicts
o Workmanship issues
Escalate to Project Manager or consultants when required
8. Site Administration
• Prepare:
o Daily reports
o Weekly progress reports
Maintain site documentation
Report issues and updates to the Project Manager
Ability to communicate in English.
