To supervise and execute conveyor maintenance activities including inspection, repair, belt splicing, and replacement to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of conveyor systems within the fixed plant, supporting production targets and operational continuity.

Some of your duties will include:

A. Maintenance Execution 

Supervise day-to-day execution of Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of conveyor systems; Belt conveyor (overland & plant), pulley, idler, take-up system, drive unit

Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards

Perform field verification of work execution and job completion

B. Belt Splicing & Replacement Supervision

Supervise conveyor belt splicing activities: Hot splicing, Cold splicing

Monitor belt replacement work including alignment, tensioning, and tracking

Ensure all splicing work meets OEM and quality standards

C. Equipment Reliability & Performance

Monitor conveyor performance and identify abnormalities

Assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) of failures

Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions

Ensure conveyor availability meets operational targets

D. Planning & Shutdown Execution

Support Superintendent and Planner in: Weekly maintenance scheduling, Shutdown preparation and execution

Ensure readiness of: Manpower, Tools & equipment, Spare parts

Execute shutdown activities according to plan and sequence

E. Contractor & Workforce Supervision

Supervise contractor activities related to: Belt splicing, Conveyor maintenance

Ensure contractor compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards

Monitor and evaluate contractor performance on-site

F. Safety, Health & Environment (HSE)

Enforce compliance with: SOP, JSA, Permit to Work; LOTO and high-risk work procedures

Conduct toolbox meetings and ensure hazard identification

Stop unsafe work and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Promote strong safety culture within the team

G. Coordination & Communication

Coordinate closely with: Operations / Production team; Mechanical, Electrical, and Planning teams; Ensure smooth execution of maintenance activities with minimal disruption to production

H. Spare Parts & Material Control

Monitor usage of conveyor spare parts

Ensure availability of critical consumables: Belt, idler, pulley, fasteners, splicing materials

Provide input for spare parts requirement and stock planning

I. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare daily and weekly reports covering: Maintenance activities; Equipment status; Downtime and issues

Update maintenance data in CMMS (SAP / Maximo / Pronto)

Ensure documentation accuracy and completeness

What skills and experience do you need?

Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering (preferred); Electrical / Mechatronics (acceptable)

Have 8 years of working experiences in conveyor maintenance within large process plants such as mining, mineral processing, heavy industry; At least have 3-5 years’ experience in Supervisory role as Supervisor - Conveyor

Strong knowledge of Belt conveyor systems and components; Belt tracking, alignment, and tensioning; Pulley, idler, and drive systems

Hands-on experience in conveyor maintenance, belt splicing and replacement, hot & cold splicing, conveyor troubleshooting

Familiar with Preventive & predictive maintenance; Root Cause Analysis (RCA); CMMS systems (SAP / Maximo / Pronto)

Certification (Preferred): K3 / Occupational Health & Safety Certification; LOTO Certification; Working at Height Certification; Conveyor Belt Splicing Certification (preferred); SMKP / ISO 45001 awareness

Strong leadership, team coordination and supervision; Good planning, organizational & time management skills; Ability to work both independently and as a team player and thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure environment; Effective communication and work productively with internal and external individuals; Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; High attention to detail, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Continuous improvement mindset; Safety leadership and compliance.

Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate.
