Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and evaluate MYP and DP English Language and Literature units that align with IB standards and school-wide learning goals.

Inspire inquiry, creativity, and critical literacy through diverse literary and non-literary texts.

Scaffold student learning toward success on DP terminal assessments through authentic and differentiated instruction.

Model effective IB teaching and learning practices and support colleagues new to the IB philosophy through collaboration and informal coaching.

Integrate interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect literature to global issues, culture, and identity.

Employ formative and summative assessment strategies using IB criteria and provide timely, meaningful feedback.

Support students’ academic writing, research, and oral communication skills in preparation for DP assessments and university-level expectations.

Contribute to school-wide literacy and language initiatives that strengthen vertical alignment across the MYP and DP.

Collaborate with subject and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coherence and alignment with IB and national standards.

Participate in ongoing professional development, accreditation processes, and the cultivation of an IB learning culture across the senior school.



Background Experiences

Minimum 5 years of IB MYP and/or DP teaching experience with demonstrated student success in DP terminal assessments.

Proven ability to lead curriculum refinement and professional growth in schools new to IB implementation.

Strong ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse linguistic, cultural, and academic needs.

Experience mentoring colleagues or contributing to whole-school IB development initiatives.

Experience working in international, bilingual, or SPK schools—experience in remote or industrial communities is an advantage.



Professional & Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature, English Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Teaching certification or equivalent credentials (e.g., SPd., M.Pd., PGCE, B.Ed., IB MYP/DP Certification, or equivalent).

Completion of IB-recognized professional training in MYP and/or DP Language and Literature.

Proven record of designing and assessing MYP and DP units according to IB standards.

Fluency in English for English-medium instruction; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage.
