Job Overview
To ensuring that service standards, facility cleanliness, and guest satisfaction goals are met and exceeded in accordance with the resort’s 4-star standards. The Spa Supervisor acts as the operational team leader, providing guidance to therapists and receptionists, managing inventory, and handling guest inquiries or complaints professionally.
Key Responsibilities
A. Operations & Service Standards
Conduct daily inspections of all spa facilities (treatment rooms, changing rooms, sauna/steam, relaxation areas) to ensure they are clean, fully stocked, and functioning correctly before opening.
Supervise the performance of therapists and receptionists to ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), from the initial greeting to the final farewell.
Monitor the quality and availability of linen, towels, and amenities.
Handle guest complaints or feedback promptly and diplomatically, ensuring effective "Service Recovery" when necessary.
B. Team Management & Training
Prepare and manage staff schedules (rosters), leave requests, and break times to ensure adequate operational coverage.
Conduct daily briefings to communicate targets, VIP guest arrivals, and ongoing promotions to the team.
Train new employees and provide regular refresher training to existing therapists regarding massage techniques, service etiquette, and product knowledge.
Monitor staff grooming, hygiene, and punctuality to ensure they meet the resort's professional standards.
C. Administration & Inventory
Manage inventory levels of professional products (massage oils, scrubs) and retail items; raise purchase requisitions before stock runs low.
Ensure the accuracy of daily sales reports, reception logs, and guest intake forms.
Monitor in-house product usage to prevent wastage and ensure cost control.
D. Sales & Marketing
Drive the team to achieve daily and monthly sales targets, including treatment revenue and retail product sales (upselling).
Assist the Spa Manager in promoting seasonal spa packages and upselling services to resort guests.
3. Key Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical Skills):
Spa Knowledge: In-depth understanding of various massage techniques, facial treatments, manicures/pedicures, and basic anatomy.
Administrative Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Spa/Hotel Management Software (e.g., Opera, VHP, or specialized Spa software).
Language: Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
Soft Skills (Interpersonal Skills):
Leadership: Ability to motivate the team, delegate tasks effectively, and maintain a fair but firm management style.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous regarding cleanliness, ambiance control (music, lighting, aroma), and presentation.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with guests from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Problem Solving: Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions during peak operational hours.
4. Qualifications
Education: Minimum Diploma (D3) in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Spa Management, or relevant Physiotherapy/Beauty Therapy certification.
Experience:
Minimum 3–4 years of experience in the Spa/Wellness industry.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a leadership role (e.g., Senior Therapist or Spa Captain) within a 4 or 5-star hotel/resort environment.
Certification: Possession of valid competency certificates (e.g., CIBTAC, CIDESCO, or National Competency Standards) is highly desirable.
Physical & Appearance: Well-groomed, hygienic, professional appearance, and good physical stamina to stand or move for extended periods.
Availability: Willing to work on a shift basis, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
