Some of your duties will include:

To plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical rebuild, overhaul, and refurbishment activities of critical process equipment to ensure optimal reliability, safety, and availability of fixed plant assets in alignment with planned maintenance strategies. This role ensures that all rebuild activities—such as pumps, gearboxes, mills, crushers, agitators, flotation cells, pumps, screens, conveyors, and other major mechanical and structural components —are executed according to OEM specifications, engineering standards, and site safety procedures.
1. Rebuild Planning & Execution
Supervise and coordinate rebuild and overhaul activities for mechanical components such as pumps, gearboxes, crushers, screens, agitators, and valves.
Ensure equipment disassembly, inspection, measurement, repair, and assembly follow OEM standards and internal quality assurance procedures.
Plan and manage manpower allocation, tooling, lifting equipment, and spare parts availability to meet schedule requirements.
Validate repair procedures, tolerances, and documentation of rebuild activities in coordination with reliability and engineering teams.
2. Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and site QA/QC standards.
Review and approve quality control records including dimensional inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT), pressure testing, and performance verification.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for premature equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
3. Safety & Environment
Lead safety toolbox meetings, conduct risk assessments (JHA/JSA), and enforce LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures.
Promote and ensure compliance with site safety management systems (SMKP Minerba, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
Ensure housekeeping and waste management practices meet environmental and sustainability standards.
4. Cost & Continuous Improvement
Manage rebuild cost, materials, and contractor performance against approved budgets.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through component life optimization and local refurbishment capability improvement.
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), lean maintenance, and 5S implementation.
5. Team Leadership & Coordination
Supervise a team of rebuild technicians, welders, fitters, and contractors.
Provide on-the-job coaching and technical guidance to ensure skills transfer and workforce competency development.
Coordinate closely with planning, reliability, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure efficient workflow.


What skills and experience do you need?

Tertiary degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering qualification at Trade in equivalent industry
Minimum 8–10 years experience in mechanical maintenance or rebuild workshop environment within mineral processing, heavy industry, or mining sectors; At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role managing rebuild/overhaul projects for large rotating or fixed equipment.
Proven experience with heavy mechanical rebuilds such as Primary & Secondary Crushers, Grinding Mills (SAG/Ball Mills), Conveyor Systems Pumps (Centrifugal, Slurry, Dewatering), Screens, Agitators, and Thickeners, Gearboxes, Couplings, and Bearings Assemblies.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tolerances, fits, and alignments; Knowledge of QA/QC inspection, NDT methods, and failure analysis techniques; Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications; Understanding of lubrication systems, hydraulics, and welding/repair techniques.
Certified in Mechanical Inspector or Rebuild Technician; ISO 9001 Quality Management and/or ISO 45001 Safety Management awareness; Welding Inspection or NDT Level II (advantageous); Training in Root Cause Analysis, 5S, or Lean Maintenance.
Has Frontline level operational inspector certificate (POP) or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position. 
Strong leadership and organizational, scheduling & time management skills; Problem-solving and decision-making skills; Ability to work both independently and as a team player and thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment; Ability to communicate well, and work productively with internal and external individuals; A commitment to safety, environmental, quality, and continuous improvement, have a desire to maintain our Indonesian mining operations to world class international standards;
Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate; Proficient in using CMMS (e.g., SAP PM, Ellipse, etc) and Microsoft Office tools: spreadsheet, database, and presentation.
