ROLE OVERVIEW
POSITION PURPOSE
Provide independent day-to-day inspection and quality-control coverage across infrastructure work fronts. The role verifies that contractor work, materials, testing and records comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project quality requirements before work is accepted, covered or handed over.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Carry out routine inspections of civil and infrastructure works, including roads, drainage, earthworks, concrete, retaining structures, utility trenches and associated enabling works.
Verify completed and ongoing work against approved drawings, specifications, method statements, inspection and test requirements, and applicable quality standards.
Inspect materials and workmanship before installation, covering-up, concrete placement, backfilling or other designated hold and witness points.
Witness and record field and laboratory tests, including concrete testing, compaction and DCP testing, and other project-specific quality checks.
Identify non-conforming work, defects and incomplete work; issue or support inspection observations and NCR records, and track corrective actions through to closure.
Maintain complete and traceable inspection records, test results, photographs, checklists, snag lists and supporting QA/QC documentation.
Coordinate inspection requests with Infrastructure Site Managers, Site Supervisors, engineers, contractors and the Senior Project Inspector & QA/QC Lead.
Support pre-handover inspections, snagging, defect verification and confirmation of rectification before formal handover.
Promptly escalate repeated quality failures, unsafe quality practices, concealed-work risks and contractor non-compliance to the Senior Project Inspector & QA/QC Lead and relevant Site Manager.
Provide daily and weekly quality updates covering inspections completed, outstanding tests, open NCRs, recurring defects and areas requiring management attention.
DECISION AUTHORITY AND BOUNDARIES
May reject an inspection request or withhold QA/QC acceptance where work does not meet approved requirements.
May require work to remain uncovered pending inspection or completion of required testing.
Must immediately escalate serious or repeated non-conformance to the Senior Project Inspector & QA/QC Lead and relevant Site Manager.
Does not own contractor programme, productivity or construction delivery. Quality verification remains independent from field execution.
Formal changes to design, specifications or acceptance criteria require approval from the authorised engineering or management function.
KEY WORKING INTERFACES
Senior Project Inspector & QA/QC Lead
Provides technical direction, escalation support and final quality leadership.
Infrastructure Site Managers and Site Supervisors
Coordinate inspection planning, corrective actions and work-front activities.
Engineering & Design Team
Provides technical clarification and interpretation of approved requirements.
Land Surveyor / Survey Team
Supports verification of levels, setting-out and other survey requirements where required.
Contractors and Testing Laboratories
Coordinate inspection requests, test witnessing and quality records.
Project Document Controller
Supports controlled filing of inspection and handover documentation.

Inspection Coverage
All required inspections are completed before work is covered or accepted.
Quality Documentation
Inspection, test and photographic records are complete, accurate and traceable.
NCR Closure
Non-conformance actions are followed through and closed within agreed timeframes.
Defect Recurrence
Repeat quality failures on active work fronts are reduced.
Handover Readiness
Inspection and snag records are complete before formal handover.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in civil or infrastructure inspection, QA/QC or site engineering.
Practical knowledge of concrete, roadworks, drainage, earthworks, compaction and civil construction quality requirements.
Experience with inspection checklists, test records, NCRs, snagging and handover documentation.
Ability to read and interpret approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
Strong field discipline and the ability to challenge non-compliant work professionally.

RECRUITMENT NOTE
The Infrastructure QA/QC Inspector supports Antonio in his role as Senior Project Inspector & QA/QC Lead. Site Managers and Site Supervisors remain accountable for delivering the work, while QA/QC independently verifies whether the work meets the required standard.
