NLW - Finance Manager (Sumbawa) (J525UI-30F1DF0D) Sumbawa, Indonesia

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a highly respected organisation in Sumba, where your expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the business. This position offers you the chance to work closely with both operational and commercial teams, ensuring that financial processes are not only robust but also continuously improved for maximum efficiency.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Manager based in Sumbawa, you will be entrusted with overseeing all aspects of accounting operations while playing an integral part in shaping the organisation’s financial strategy. Your daily responsibilities will include managing month-end closings with precision, reviewing key financial statements for accuracy, supporting compliance efforts during audits or tax submissions, and setting up robust finance processes that streamline workflows across departments. You will also take ownership of budgeting cycles—working collaboratively with colleagues to forecast future performance—and provide insightful analysis that helps identify risks or opportunities for margin improvement. By acting as a trusted partner to both Operations and Commercial teams, you will ensure that every financial decision is informed by reliable data and aligned with broader business goals. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills; your ability to communicate complex information clearly will enable others to understand the impact of their actions on overall company performance.

Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including revenue recognition, cost booking, accruals, and provisions to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies as well as PSAK/IFRS standards.
Deliver timely month-end closing by coordinating with relevant departments and maintaining high standards of data integrity throughout all financial records.
Review site profit and loss statements along with balance sheet movements, monitoring unbilled revenue, work-in-progress accounts, accounts receivable ageing, and accrual accuracy.
Support tax filings, statutory reporting requirements, and external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and responding promptly to queries.
Establish and standardise finance processes such as billing cycles, accrual management, cost tracking mechanisms, and revenue recognition protocols across the business.
Develop comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with Operations teams to enhance process clarity and consistency.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing data quality, operational efficiency, and overall effectiveness of finance functions.
Lead annual budgeting exercises as well as rolling forecasts by gathering input from various stakeholders and performing detailed monthly variance analysis.
Identify potential financial risks or margin leakage through careful review of performance metrics while ensuring alignment between reported results and operational drivers.
Partner closely with Operations and Commercial teams by translating manpower planning, productivity measures, overtime calculations, pricing strategies, and contract changes into actionable financial insights.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Finance Manager position brings a wealth of experience from previous roles within finance or accounting functions—particularly those involving responsibility for controlling budgets or analysing costs. Your educational background ensures you have mastered core principles underpinning modern accounting standards like PSAK/IFRS. Beyond technical know-how, your approach is defined by integrity: you consistently strive to exceed expectations while making choices that uphold organisational values. You are naturally inquisitive yet humble enough to seek input from others when faced with uncertainty; this mindset enables you to create clarity even amidst ambiguity. Your practical skills extend into areas such as developing SOPs alongside operational partners or leveraging Excel models during forecasting exercises. With an eye for detail when reviewing contracts or managing cash flow cycles—and an ability to present findings persuasively—you foster trust among colleagues who rely on your guidance. Intermediate English proficiency allows you to collaborate seamlessly within multicultural settings.

Hold at least a Bachelor Degree (S1) in Accounting which provides a solid foundation for understanding complex financial concepts.
Possess 5-7 years of experience working within financial controller roles or similar positions such as finance accounting or cost accounting environments.
Demonstrate excellence in delivering results beyond expectations by consistently choosing ethical solutions that reflect organisational values.
Show humility alongside curiosity when approaching new challenges while remaining open-minded about alternative perspectives or methods.
Exhibit strong knowledge of accounting principles coupled with hands-on experience in financial control practices under PSAK/IFRS guidelines.
Display advanced capabilities in finance business partnering by effectively communicating insights that support operational decisions.
Have proven expertise in budgeting processes—including annual planning cycles—as well as rolling forecasts supported by intermediate Excel-based modelling skills.
Understand commercial contracts thoroughly so you can assess their implications on revenue streams or cost structures accurately.
Manage working capital efficiently through diligent oversight of cash flows while maintaining clear communication channels across teams.
Present information confidently using excellent communication skills tailored for diverse audiences; problem-solving abilities are essential for navigating complex scenarios; intermediate English proficiency is required for effective collaboration.
