Job Title: Receptionist / Front Desk Staff

Location: Mad Monkey Kuta Lombok

Department: Front Office / Guest Services

Reports to: Front Office Manager

Job Summary

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in delivering a friendly, efficient, and memorable guest experience. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced, social hostel environment.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests warmly and handle check-in and check-out processes efficiently

Respond to guest inquiries in person, via phone, email, and messaging platforms

Provide information about hostel facilities, services, local attractions, and events

Manage reservations, room allocations, and availability using the booking system

Handle guest requests and resolve complaints in a professional manner

Process payments, maintain accurate billing, and manage daily cash handling

Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure room readiness

Promote hostel activities, tours, and upsell additional services

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area

Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous experience in hospitality or customer service (preferred)

Good communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)

Friendly, outgoing, and customer-oriented personality

Basic computer skills and familiarity with booking systems (PMS is a plus)

Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure

Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented

Preferred Skills

Experience working in hostels or social hospitality environments

Knowledge of Lombok tourism and local activities

Sales and upselling skills

Problem-solving and conflict resolution ability

Positive attitude and strong teamwork spirit

Work Environment

Fast-paced and social international hostel setting

High interaction with guests from diverse backgrounds

Requires flexibility and adaptability
