Warehouseman

(National - Site Based)

 

Some of your duties will include:

Responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate execution of receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory of materials, parts, consumables, and equipment that support mining operations. The role ensures warehouse integrity, compliance with site safety standards, and timely service to internal users across the mining site.

Some of your duties will include:

1. Material Receiving & Inspection

·       Receive incoming materials, equipment, and consumables from vendors or inter‑site transfers.

·       Unpack, verify, sort, and inspect items against purchase orders, delivery notes, and packing lists.

·       Report discrepancies, damages, and shortages to supervisors or procurement.

·       Ensure proper documentation and SAP data entry for all received items.

2. Storage, Handling & Inventory Maintenance

 

·       Locate and store materials accurately within racking, binning systems, and yard storage areas.

·       Perform regular bin maintenance, labelling, and housekeeping to maintain warehouse organization.

·       Conduct routine stock checks, cycle counts, and assist with periodic inventory audits.

·       Maintain compliance with material segregation rules (hazardous materials, chemicals, lubricants, etc.).

3. Material Issuing & Distribution

·       Pick, issue, and prepare materials according to approved Material Issue Requests (MIR), reservations, or work orders.

·       Repack items where necessary to reduce damage and facilitate safe transport.

·       Deliver requested materials to users across the mining site using appropriate transport or MH equipment.

4. Equipment Operation & Material Movement

·       Operate forklifts, telehandlers, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment safely and efficiently.

·       Conduct loading and unloading of trucks, containers, and transport vehicles following SOPs.

·       Perform basic pre‑use inspections of equipment to ensure operational safety.

5. Warehouse Safety, Security & Compliance

·       Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment following company safety protocols.

·       Comply with HSE regulations, PPE requirements, and hazardous materials handling procedures.

·       Safeguard inventory by adhering to warehouse access controls and security protocols.

6. Other Duties

·       Support continuous improvement initiatives within the SCM Asset department.

·       Assist with documentation, SAP transactions, and reporting as required.

·       Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or Superintendent.

 

What skills and experience do you need?

·       High school diploma or equivalent (SMA/SMK); A tertiary education (Diploma or Bachelor’s degree) will be considered an advantage

·       Minimum 3 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, or inventory operations (mining industry experience preferred).

·       Have valid license/certification for operating forklifts or other material‑handling equipment (e.g., SIO/Operator License); Preferably trained in basic safety (K3), hazardous material handling, or defensive driving.

·       Knowledge of warehouse operational standards, racking systems, and material storage methods.

·       Has Basic Pro English both in verbal and writing; Basic computer software applications: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); including familiarity with: SAP MM Module or other ERP/inventory management systems

·       Strong attention to detail and accuracy; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal customers; High sense of responsibility, integrity, and safety awareness.
