Job Summary

The Bartender at Mad Monkey Kuta Lombok is responsible for delivering excellent guest experiences by preparing and serving high-quality beverages in a fun, social, and fast-paced hostel bar environment. The role requires strong customer service skills, efficient drink preparation, and the ability to engage with international travelers while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and responsible alcohol service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Beverage Preparation & Service

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Mad Monkey standards.

Mix cocktails, pour beers, and serve spirits accurately and efficiently.

Ensure drinks are presented consistently and attractively.

Monitor stock levels and inform management of shortages.

2. Guest Experience

Create a welcoming, friendly, and social atmosphere for hostel guests.

Engage with travelers and encourage participation in bar events and activities.

Handle guest requests and complaints professionally.

Promote daily specials, events, and bar promotions.

3. Bar Operations

Set up and break down the bar before and after service.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.

Follow proper cash handling and POS procedures.

Ensure glassware, equipment, and bar tools are clean and ready for service.

4. Inventory & Stock Management

Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation.

Ensure proper storage of beverages and bar supplies.

Minimize waste and report damaged items.

5. Compliance & Safety

Follow health, hygiene, and safety regulations.

Serve alcohol responsibly and check IDs when necessary.

Ensure a safe and respectful environment for guests and staff.

Requirements

Previous bartending or bar service experience preferred.

Basic knowledge of cocktails, beer, and spirits.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and late-night shifts.

Comfortable working in a lively hostel/party environment.

Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
