[WE’RE HIRING] 🌿 Social Science District Officer
The SPHERES Project at the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit Indonesia (OUCRU-ID) aims to create data-for-action behaviour within integrated data ecosystems to strengthen primary health care (PHC) environments in Indonesia.
We are looking for a Social Science District Officer to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the implementation and monitoring of social, cultural, and empowerment-based interventions within the SPHERES framework. Your contribution will ensure that project activities are culturally grounded, contextually appropriate, and actionable for all stakeholders.
🔹 Essential Qualifications
• Indonesian citizen possessing bachelor’s degree in public health, midwifery, medicine, nursing, nutrition, sociology, anthropology, epidemiology, or other related social science fields.
• Experience in qualitative, quantitative, and/or community-based research.
• Familiarity with quantitative analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R) and qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti).
• Understanding of health systems and the cultural dimensions influencing systemic change in health implementation research.
• Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Possess a valid SIM C, have a personal motorcycle, and be able to ride it safely for fieldwork purposes.
🔹 Desirable Qualifications
• Experience working with health data, primary health care programmes, or digital health interventions.
• Residency of 10 years or more in Central Java or West Nusa Tenggara.
• Fluency in Javanese or Bahasa Sasak.
💡 Key Responsibilities
• Conduct mixed-methods research to assess digital health adoption and its impact.
• Engage with district-level stakeholders to ensure user-centred and inclusive implementation.
• Analyse and present behavioural, cultural, and policy insights related to digital health interventions.
• Identify and troubleshoot social science-related challenges at the district level to support smooth project implementation.
📍 Placement & Application Details
• Location: On-site, based in Kabupaten Purbalingga or Kabupaten Lombok Barat, with regular coordination with the Jakarta team
