Mandalika Intercultural School is seeking an experienced School Principal (Expatriate) to provide strategic academic leadership and ensure the highest standards of learning, international-mindedness, and operational excellence. This role focuses on strengthening the Cambridge and MIS curricula, fostering teacher growth, driving accreditation, and cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. The School Principal works closely with the Head of School (National Principal) to align academic vision with operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
Native or near-native English proficiency; understanding of Indonesian education context is a plus.
Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience in an international school, preferably with the Cambridge curriculum.
Strong leadership and management experience with a focus on instructional quality.
Demonstrated success in accreditation, curriculum design, and teacher development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Academic and Instructional Leadership
Oversee teaching and learning across all programs, ensuring alignment with the school’s vision, mission, and international standards.
Lead curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation to enhance student outcomes.
Guide teachers in lesson planning, assessment, and use of effective instructional strategies.
Model best teaching practices by teaching selected classes to inspire and mentor faculty.
Analyze student performance data to drive academic improvement and inform decision-making.
School Improvement and Strategic Development
Lead the review and refinement of the school’s vision, mission, and values.
Develop and implement a comprehensive school improvement plan with measurable goals and outcomes.
Ensure all school policies and procedures are regularly reviewed, updated, and properly documented.
Identify and apply educational research and best practices to promote continuous improvement.
Professional Growth and Personnel Management
Recruit, onboard, and mentor qualified international and local staff.
Define performance expectations, conduct classroom observations, and lead teacher evaluations.
Design and implement professional development programs that build teaching capacity and leadership.
Foster a positive, collegial, and collaborative culture among staff.
Recognize excellence and support staff in achieving their professional growth goals.
Accreditation and Quality Assurance
Lead the school through Indonesian and international accreditation processes.
Maintain accurate academic and institutional records for accountability and compliance.
Ensure MIS meets the standards of the Cambridge International framework and national education requirements.
Oversee documentation and systems related to curriculum, assessment, and policy compliance.
Fiscal and Facilities Oversight
Develop and manage budgets aligned with strategic and academic priorities.
Maintain fiscal control and ensure financial transparency in school operations.
Supervise use and maintenance of facilities to provide a safe, orderly, and conducive learning environment.
Student Management and Wellbeing
Oversee student discipline policies and ensure fair, consistent enforcement.
Create a positive school climate that supports student engagement, respect, and inclusion.
Conduct conferences with parents, teachers, and students to address academic or behavioral concerns.
Community Engagement and Communication
Build strong relationships with the Board of Directors, parents, and local community.
Promote MIS’s vision and programs to current and prospective families.
Ensure effective two-way communication among all stakeholders.
Encourage parent and community involvement in school programs and activities.
Enrollment and Growth
Review and implement effective enrollment policies and procedures.
Oversee and make final decisions on student admissions and withdrawals.
Collaborate with the marketing and admission team to support school growth and visibility.
Professional Conduct and Ethics
Work closely with the Head of School to align academic excellence with operational effectiveness.
Report regularly to the Board of Directors on academic progress and improvement plans.
Demonstrate ethical leadership and serve as a role model for staff and students.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold MIS’s values in all professional interactions.
Pursue continuous professional learning to stay current with educational trends and leadership practices.
