We’re seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cost Controller to join our Finance & Accounting team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with company budgets and goals. You’ll play an essential role in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, while supporting management with financial insights that drive smart decision-making.

Responsibilities
Cost Control & Financial Operations

Validate Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), and invoices for completeness, accuracy, and budget compliance.
Review cash flow requests, petty cash disbursements, and employee advances to ensure proper justification and approval.
Track actual expenditures daily/weekly and update cost-to-complete forecasts.
Compare actual vs. projected financial performance (KPI, cash flow, IRR impact).
Proactively monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
Collaborate in monthly cost analysis and prepare variance reports for management.
Coordinate with the QS team for cost certification, BOQs, and contractor payments.
Coordinate with Accounting for disbursements and reconciliations.
Prepare project finance dashboards and progress reports for management.
Flag potential overruns or underspending early.

Revenue & Sales Reconciliation
Validate all sales transactions and payment details to ensure revenue accuracy.
Conduct regular reconciliations of reported revenue.
Identify discrepancies and collaborate with the Finance team to resolve them.
Prepare monthly revenue reconciliation reports with key performance summaries.

Budget Reporting
Prepare timely daily and monthly management reporting packages with variance analysis.
Work with operations teams to monitor project performance and highlight variances.
Ensure close monitoring of costs against approved budgets and escalate potential overspending.
Support monthly and annual financial closing processes.
Provide ad-hoc financial analyses and reports for management review.

Asset Management
Maintain an updated list of company assets across all departments.
Reconcile asset records between Operations and Finance.
Coordinate all asset-related documentation, including tagging, movement, and disposal.
Participate in periodic asset verification and audits to maintain data integrity.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance operations, ideally with exposure to cost control.
Experience in the construction or property development industry is a strong advantage.
Solid understanding of budgeting, expense control, and reconciliation processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; experience with ERP/accounting systems is a plus.
Self-motivated, proactive, and reliable.
