Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant - Tax to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax accounting principles, be familiar with tax preparation processes, and have the ability to manage day-to-day tax-related activities. This role will involve assisting with tax filings, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns (corporate, individual, and sales tax).
Prepare tax provisions and related schedules in compliance with accounting standards.
Perform tax research to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Assist with tax audits, gathering required documentation, and liaising with tax authorities as needed.
Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings and payments.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of tax transactions and tax-related financial data.
Monitor changes in tax laws and recommend necessary adjustments to tax strategies.
Support management in various accounting and tax-related matters, including internal and external reporting.
Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and related disclosures.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations (federal, state, and local).
Experience with tax preparation software and financial reporting tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
Experience in corporate tax or public accounting is a plus.
