Some of your duties will include:
Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, overhead, and contingencies.
Collaborate with project Superintendent to establish project budgets based on the cost estimates, ensuring alignment with project objectives and financial constraints.
Gather, validate, and analyze data from various sources, such as suppliers, subcontractors, historical project data, and market research, to inform cost estimates.
Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may affect project costs and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Continuously monitor project costs throughout the project lifecycle and provide regular updates and recommendations for cost control measures.
Prepare comprehensive cost reports, including detailed breakdowns, assumptions, methodologies, and any changes in project cost estimates.
Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and contractors to secure favourable pricing and contract terms.
Compare project cost estimates against industry standards and competitors to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
Evaluate and process change orders, assessing their impact on project costs and timelines.
What skills and experience do you need?
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or Business. Advanced degrees or certifications in cost estimation or related fields can be advantageous
Minimum 5 years of experience in cost estimation, particularly within the project management or construction industry, project management, engineering, or construction is often preferred.
Proficiency in cost estimation methodologies, tools, and software.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills for data analysis, modeling, and forecasting.
Proficient in Ms Project, Ms Office, and Desktop Publishing Package; proficient in Resources Analysis; proficient in Cost Control utilizing software such as SAP or other ERP will be additional advantage
Possess leadership traits and organizational, scheduling & time management skills; Ability to work both independently and as a team player and thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment dependent on managing multiple project timelines and schedules simultaneously; Ability to communicate well, and work productively with internal and external individuals; A commitment to safety and a desire to maintain our Indonesian mining operations to world class international safety standards; Demonstrate strong conceptual skills, and capable of developing lateral and practical solutions; High level of integrity and commitment; Good analytical, conflict resolution, sound decision making skills;
Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written; computer literate.
