The Schedule and Planning Lead is responsible for the planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control of all commissioning activities for the Process Plant Expansion Project. This role ensures the commissioning schedule aligns with project construction milestones and operational readiness objectives, focusing on system criticalities and prioritization to enable safe, timely commissioning and handover of systems to Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Schedule Development and Maintenance:
Develop and maintain the detailed commissioning schedule based on Hierarchy of Priorities (HOP) and equipment criticality (e.g., ensuring fire water systems are commissioned before other systems).
Integrate commissioning schedule with construction and overall project schedules (Level 3/Level 4 schedules).
Commissioning Planning:
Plan and sequence all commissioning activities, generating weekly and daily execution plans for commissioning teams.
Forecast commissioning resource needs based on construction progress and critical path requirements.
Identify and manage system turnovers from construction to commissioning.
Monitoring and Control:
Monitor construction and pre-commissioning activities to anticipate and align commissioning start dates.
Track compliance of commissioning activities to the planned schedule.
Highlight and escalate deviations, slippage, and risks to the Commissioning Manager and project leadership team.
Communication and Coordination:
Coordinate closely with Construction, Engineering, and Operation Readiness teams to align milestones and facilitate system handovers.
Communicate any slippage and propose mitigation actions in a timely manner.
Facilitate and lead daily/weekly coordination meetings on commissioning scheduling updates.
Change Management:
Manage schedule changes including adding, deferring, or rescheduling activities as priorities shift.
Maintain visibility of backlog and re-prioritize based on system criticality and project needs.
Reporting:
Provide regular progress reports, KPIs, look-ahead schedules, and risk assessments related to commissioning execution.
Support punch list management and tracking of outstanding items impacting commissioning completion.
Qualifications:
Experience with large-scale mineral processing plant commissioning (e.g., Concentrator, Flotation, Thickener, Tailings systems).
Familiarity with Operations Readiness Planning (ORP) and Ramp-Up Support.
Knowledge of construction completions systems such as MCPlus, CMS, or equivalent turnover management systems.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process) or relevant technical discipline.
Minimum 10 years experience in industrial project planning and scheduling.
At least 5 years of direct commissioning experience in large mining/mineral processing, oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project; good understanding of project controls systems.
Previous experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project environments.
Strong understanding of system and sub-system commissioning logic, critical path management, system handover processes (MC/SC/RC stages).
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Fluent in English (verbal and written).
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams under high-pressure environments.
