Operations Manager (Lombok) | Indonesia
About the role
The Operations Manager will oversee and manage the daily operations of the Lombok Office of Asian Trails Indonesia. This role ensures smooth office functioning, effective team coordination and excellent customer service to clients. The Manager will assist with product development, focusing on creating unique and attractive travel experiences in Lombok and its surrounding areas, working closely with the product development team to create tailored itineraries, promote local tourism and enhance the agency’s offerings.
Responsibilities
Manage office infrastructure, including supplies, equipment and facilities;
Monitor the performance and productivity of office staff, providing feedback and coaching;
Handle incoming and outgoing communication via phone, email and in person;
Coordinate logistics for inbound travel packages, ensuring timely and accurate arrangements;
Oversee reservation and booking processes, ensuring clients’ expectations are met;
Collaborate with local suppliers, including hotels, transport providers, activity vendors and tour guides, to arrange services;
Ensure operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness and high-quality service delivery;
Assist in identifying new products and experiences in Lombok and surrounding areas;
Work closely with the product development team to create tailored travel packages and itineraries;
Research and explore potential new destinations, activities and partnerships that align with company offerings;
Provide input on local trends and preferences to help refine products;
Support budget management, including tracking expenses and maintaining accurate financial records.
Qualifications
Indonesian national;
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Tourism or a related field;
Previous experience in office management, tourism or hospitality;
Good analytical skills and business sense;
Must be creative, well organised, able to multitask, detail-oriented and able to prioritise workload efficiently;
Good decision-making and problem-solving capability;
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills;
Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills;
Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentational – with clarity of expression;
Fluent in English and Indonesian (both written and spoken);
Proficiency in office software (MS Office, Google Suite, etc.);
Experience with Destination Management software is an advantage;
A passion for travel and an understanding of the Lombok region, surrounding areas and attractions, is a plus;
Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season;
Able to work independently as well as part of a team;
A “Can Do” attitude, positive mindset and creative thinking is an asset.
