What You'll Do
As a Health, Safety and Risk Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe working environment within our client's mining project. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and evaluate risk management strategies that align with the project's growth. You will also be tasked with conducting regular site visits to identify areas for improvement, ensuring compliance with safety legislation, policies, and practices. Additionally, you will lead investigations into unplanned events or significant near-misses, reporting your findings to relevant stakeholders. This role requires strong leadership skills as you will assist in coordinating the HSR team members on a daily basis.
Promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace, ensuring compliance with safety legislation, policies and practices.
Develop, maintain, and improve the implementation of applicable safety management systems in the project site.
Ensure the delivery of Occupational Health and Safety Management System Audits on the project and develop Action Plans to address deficiencies identified during the audit process.
Assist in leading & coordinating the HSR team members at day-to-day operation at the Project Site under the HSR Manager’s supervision & coordination.
Undertake regular site visits, safety behaviour observation and inspections of operational sites and work areas to identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensure the implementation of investigations of unplanned events or significant near-misses and report findings to relevant stakeholders.
What You Bring
The ideal candidate for the Health, Safety and Risk Supervisor role will bring a wealth of experience in occupational health and safety, particularly within a site engineering context. You will have a minimum of 3-4 years' experience in a similar capacity, with a strong understanding of safety management systems and risk management. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to effectively explain concepts and procedures, while your ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously will be crucial in this fast-paced environment. A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is required, and certifications such as Pengawasan Operasional Pratama (POP) and Safety Auditor are highly desirable.
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or other related background.
Minimum 3-4 years relevant experience as site Health and Safety Engineer.
Strong knowledge and skill in safety management system, including risk management.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to explain concepts concisely and accurately.
Experience supervising a work team or contractors.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Pengawasan Operasional Pratama (POP), and Safety auditor certification is desirable.
