Some of your duties will include: 

Read through original material and rewriting it in the target language (Mandarin – English - Indonesia or vice versa), ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained.

Undertake translations in accordance with established procedures, standards and agreed deadline with high quality and reliable services are provided to customers. 

Use the internet as research tools, consult with relevant literatures and actively seek information and clarification to experts in specialist areas throughout translation process.

Refer to dictionaries, lexicons, encyclopedias, and computerized terminology banks as needed to ensure translation accuracy.

Follow ethical codes that protect the confidentiality of information.

Proofread and edit final translated versions.

Assist other team/section by answering and/or seeking appropriate sources of knowledge and information to answer queries related to any aspect of translations.

Serve as the main interpreter in project’s meetings, functions, presentations, briefings, communications sessions, training sessions etc. as needed. 

Plan and allocate document translation and live interpreter activities effectively. 

Liaise with external outsourced translators/interpreters as required. 

 

What skills and experience do you need?

University degree in Mandarin literature or Mandarin language.

Mastery of Mandarin – English - Indonesian (written and oral).

Seasoned translator and interpreter with more than 7 years of experience in technical, general, and legal translations in mining environment.

Computer literate (MS Office intermediate)

Sound knowledge of interpreting aids/tools.

Active listening, speech recognition, speech clarity, selective attention, and memorization skills.

Certificate in translation and interpreting training is preferred. 

Member of a professional, translator’s association is preferred (HPI).

Willing to relocate to project location with work schedule 5 days on and 2 days off (with yearly annual leave).
