About The Hydrogeologist Role

As a Hydrogeologist, you will be at the heart of ensuring effective and sustainable water management practices are implemented. Your daily responsibilities will involve conducting thorough studies to evaluate the environmental impacts of water use and infrastructure. Working closely with various teams, you will revise data acquisition workflows and procedures according to standard best practices. Field investigations, including hydrological mapping, piezometer installation, aquifer tests, and supervising all surface water monitoring will also fall under your remit.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough studies to evaluate the environmental impacts of water use and infrastructure

Craft testing and monitoring programmes, as well as hydrogeological and hydrological models

Drive continuous improvement practices in water management

Develop robust plans for water management systems to support mine feasibility studies and infrastructure layout plans

Collaborate closely with the Consultant Team, Contractor Team, and Data Base Team for revising data acquisition workflows and procedures according to standard best practices

Undertake field investigations for these studies, including hydrological and hydrogeological mapping, piezometer installation, aquifer tests, and supervise all surface water monitoring and measurement installations

The successful Hydrogeologist is able to conduct thorough studies, craft testing and monitoring programmes, and drive continuous improvement practices in water management.

Key Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in Geology-Hydrogeology, Mining or Civil Engineering (Water Infrastructure)

Minimum of eight years' experience in a related position

Robust knowledge of hydrological and hydrogeological modelling in GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, FeFlow, Visual Modflow

Experience with planning and execution of geophysical survey activity (example: Resistivity Study)

Good understanding of aquifer tests for hydrogeological properties, rainfall analysis, estimate water balance, dewatering programme

Good level of English language (writing and speaking)
